Olinga Learning Institute’s (OLI’s) mission is to empower the childcare sector by engaging experts to train service providers and staff with the required support, skills and knowledge needed to achieve excellence within their daily practices. We aim to provide educators and management with practical tools and strategies that can be implemented effectively to benefit all stakeholders in the process of achieving high quality education and care. All courses have been developed for the benefit of our children.

COVID-prevention

HLTINFCOV001 – COMPLY WITH INFECTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

This is an accredited COVID-19 infection prevention training course, as recommended by the NSW Government.

This course will enable your centre to better respond to COVID-19 risks in your centre and reduce transmission risk.

HLTAID009 – PROVIDE CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR)

This is a refresher First Aid and CPR training for childcare workers, educators and support staff working that work within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.

Depending on numbers, the course can be delivered at our training facilities or in centre.

Face to face delivery or blended delivery available. Formerly HLTAID001 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

CHCPRT001 – IDENTIFY AND RESPOND TO CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE AT RISK

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to support and protect children and young people who are at risk of harm. This work occurs within legislative and policy frameworks and carries a duty of care responsibility.

EDUCATORS AND WELLBEING WITH SERVICE PRACTICE

This workshop is developed for educators and management to explore the importance of mental and emotional health of the staff within a service to ensure the quality of education and care in daily practice is maintained. Educators will receive tools and strategies that will allow respite for service staff without compromising ratios.

Supervision – Excursions and Risk assessment. This workshop is designed to facilitate early childhood educators and staff to update their knowledge in relation to workplace health and safety and current regulatory requirements to ensure the health and safety of all stakeholders are upheld within daily practice.

CHILD PROTECTION SERIES – INDICATORS AND DUTY OF CARE IN DAILY PRACTICES

Educators will be trained to identify indicators of child abuse and aspects of emotional and behaviourial indicators that can be warning signs of abuse.

The series covers the legislative requirements and jurisdiction of educators as mandatory reporters. Educators will  be trained on their duty of care requirements in daily practice to report child abuse indicators and what to do when they are not supported by management in relation to reporting. 

This unit explores the types of abuse in depth including:

  • Physical and sexual abuse

  • Psychological and Neglect

  • Family and Domestic Violence

This workshop is an extension of the unit of competence CHCPRT001 and is run over three workshops.

CREATING SAFE ONLINE PRACTICES IN EARLY CHILDHOOD

This workshop discusses the need for educators to have safe policies and procedures whilst engaging the idea of technology within the program and the planning cycle. Specific for all educators and supervisors in relation to preschoolers and school readiness programming.

SCHOOL READINESS AND AGE APPROPRIATE ROUTINES

This workshop is for educators and supervisors of preschool aged groups. It will address the effective pedagogical practices of intentional teaching. This workshop assists with understanding how school readiness can be implemented within the routine and what is age appropriate specific activities that can benefit the child developmentally according to curriculum requirements. This workshop explores areas of language development (speech variables, literacy and numeracy) as well as social developmental skills whilst working within the child focused play based learning environment.

This workshop explores practical ways to achieve high quality practices within daily routines to meet the NQS standards. Educators will be able to explore effective methods of developing a Quality Improvement Plan that is solution based with ongoing, continuous improvement processes. This workshop will provide training for educators to understand the process of effective self assessment strategies and collaborative practices to build confidence to be prepared for assessment and rating season.

This workshop is designed to refresh educators on the importance of effective interactions during the daily routine. The participants will explore a variety of techniques that will help them to develop a firm and consistent strategy for establishing a learning environment based on nurturing the emotional development of children through spontaneous teachable opportunities. Through role play and case studies, participants will have a fresh perspective to maintaining positive relationships whilst promoting positive behaviour and seeing results.
