About The Course
This course is generally for childcare workers, educators and supports staff working within an Education and Care setting. First Aid is administered immediately after the injury occurs and at the location where it occurred. Real-life demonstration.
You will learn about the following topics:
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation Techniques on Adult & Infant
Use of Defibrillator
Legal Responsibilities of a First Aider
How to Properly Assess an Emergency Situation
First Aid Procedures for Bleeding, Burns and Fractures
Assessing and Moving Sick & Injured
Basic Anatomy and Physiology(differences between adults, children and infants)
For dates, times and locations, check the OLI Website. Courses run on a regular basis and are 6 hours in duration. OLI offers Face- to-Face training at the following locations:
North Sydney.
Epping.
Kellyville.
Liverpool.
Online via digital platforms.
The course is for $140 which also includes the CPR Certificate.
Students must be at least 14 years of age. Participants must also:
Present photo ID.
Provide their USI.
Have sufficient English language skills to complete the course.
Students will be taught by industry professionals and receive learning materials which they keep for future reference. Assessment is via written questions, verbal questions, and case study/simulated environment assessment tasks.

Once a competent mark is awarded, learners will be issued a Statement of Attainment and a Statement of Testamur with the relevant unit code: HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (Incorporated units: HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid).
This certificate is valid for 3 years.
