About The Course
This training will provide you with the necessary skills needed to assist anyone who is suffering from mental health symptoms. Participants will head from this course with a clear understanding of how to create a workplace environment that cares for and respects everyone. It will cover in-depth discussions on mental health first aid topics, medical information and how to immediately assist during emergency situations.
You will learn about the following topics:
How to Properly Assess an Emergency Situation
Identify Signs and Symptoms of Mental Illness
Stress vs Depression
Using Effective Communication Techniques
Real-life Demonstration
For dates, times and locations, check the OLI Website. Courses run on a regular basis and are 8 hours in duration (1 day). OLI offers Face-to-Face training at the following locations:
North Sydney.
Epping.
Kellyville.
Liverpool.
Online via digital platforms.
The course is for $160 which also includes the Certificate.
Students must be at least 18 years of age. Participants must also:
Present photo ID.
Provide their USI.
Have sufficient English language skills to complete the course.
There is no final assessment for this course.
Once a competent mark is awarded, learners will be issued a Certificate of Completion with the relevant course: Mental Health Awareness.
